Anthony's
our comments
Anthony’s was named the best new restaurant of 2004 at the Restaurant Remy Awards. Head Chef Anthony Flinn was awarded with the Remy prize of excellence. Flinn has an unusual style of cooking that combines traditional cooking with scientific principles – molecular gastronomy. Basically, Flinn mixes ingredients that sound like they shouldn’t work but do. Examples include roast duck breast with olive oil and chocolate bonbons, roast suckling pig with chocolate pudding fondant and black sesame seed ice cream. Anthony’s is not a dining experience for the timid. Make sure you book in advance.- March 2005

Went for Lunch Thursday 3rd Sepember, what a fantastic experience. I cannot find fault with any part of the service or food... We arrived and were seated upstairs whilst we chose from a drinks menu and were given a small bowl of delicious olives, we then chose our food from the set menu and ordered wine and water which was at our table as we were escorted downstairs. The eating area was fresh and roomy and the decor lovely. Our maitre dee was fantastic and I wonder if others that felt the service was not good tried to engage in a conversation with the servers. We were presented with an amouse bouche of salmon tartare with a icy type topping, this was really delicious. Afterwards a lovely little loaf of fresh white bread and 3 types of butters were placed at our table prior to our starts arriving, please do try the pigs cheek with cripsy pigs ears, it was amazing! delightful mains followed and then desserts, with ample time between courses and our glasses were topped up constantly throughout. The fod was as good as many michelin star restaurants we have dined in and will ost definatley return to try the eving menu, if you are holidaying in Leeds do wander to the Corn Exchange and see Flinns other empire and purchase fresh produce .... wow the whole luch was to die for

having entering the resteraunt myself and party were anticipating a wowing dining experience, this was not the case, we had the tasting menu. 1st course was liquid stock cube of beef with horseradish sauce, 2nd up was onion risotto with coffee topping, not even close to nice, we then had another 4 savoury courses and 2 desert course, these were also horrible. complained and was told to have a nice evening. it was a special occassion that was totally ruined and for £300 for four people we found it repulsive. be careful of online menu not that when you get there.not be going again

This restaurant serves amazing food, but is let down by its front of house.
The food is innovative and quite simply exquisite, but sadly, the service doesn't match. Throughout the whole night not a single one of the waiting staff smiled or engaged with us at all in a warm manner. The atmosphere is soul-less, compounded by the fact that the restaurant is in window-less basement in a drab part of Leeds.
